Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a wonderful outdoor activity for families and all ability levels. All around the Vail area is surrounded by trails and places you can go to blaze your own
trail. If you don’t have your own snow shoes, there are places where you can rent them.
Vail Nordic Center, East Vail
The Vail Nordic Center is located in the Vail Golf Course Clubhouse two miles east of Vail Village. The golf course provides a beautiful setting for a day away from the crowds and some peace among the aspen along the edge of the mountain.
Snowshoeing From The Nature Discovery Center, Vail Mountain – Eagle’s Nest
Located in an all-seasons yurt atop Vail Mountain, the Nature Discovery Center is a community-based partnership between Vail Resorts, the US Forest Service and Walking Mountains Science Center. Walking Mountains naturalists provide daily nature hikes that explore Vail’s high alpine habitat and teach visitors to the yurt about local ecology. FREE guided snowshoe tours – daily at 2 p.m. (No reservations needed.) Ages 10 and older. FREE evening snowshoe tours – Tuesday-Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Ages 10 and older. Vail Nordic Center, Vail – Golden Peak
Snowshoe, Cross-Country, and Backcountry ski tours for all levels. Come explore the wilderness around Vail on one of our group tours or privates. We also offer Telemark on Vail Mountain. Beaver Creek Nordic Center, Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park
The Nordic Sports Center, located across from the covered bridge in the Strawberry Park building and next to chair 12 the Strawberry Park express lift. Offering a complete rental shop with Classical, Skate, Telemark and Snowshoe equipment rentals. Also offered are daily scheduled and private lessons and tours, ticket sales, as well as retail and snacks. Special lift ticket required.
