Discover a treasured winter pastime at the Vail ice skating rinks throughout our mountain villages. Imagine skating under the canopy of twinkling lights, surrounded by beautiful Bavarian architecture, with the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Whether you want to stay in the heart of Vail Village or outside of town in Avon, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices offers vacation rentals close to several magical ice skating rinks.

Alderhof Ice Rink

The Alderhof Ice Rink can be found next to The Arrabelle in Vail Square. This open-air rink is open daily throughout the winter from 1-9 pm. Experience the magic of skating under twinkling lights and warm up in front of the fire pits after you’re done!

Solaris Plaza Ice Rink

The Solaris Plaza Ice Rink is located in the center of Vail Village, offering panoramic views of the ski mountain. They are open daily from 3-9 pm, with skate rentals available next to the Bol restaurant.

John A. Dobson Ice Arena

The Dobson Ice Arena is a multi-purpose arena for ice skating, hockey, and broomball. The 35,000-square-foot rink is one of the largest in Western Colorado, conveniently located between Lionshead and Vail. We recommend signing up for the ice bumper cars if you visit the area with kids. Zoom around the rink together with this one-of-a-kind activity!

Avon Ice Skating

If you are staying near Avon, we recommend taking your group ice skating at Nottingham Lake. The lake is cleared for skating every winter, complete with fire pits and seasonal music. They are open from 4-8 pm on weekdays and 12-8 pm on weekends.

Beaver Creek Village Ice Skating

Enjoy ice skating in the heart of Beaver Creek Village daily from 1-8 pm! This rink is an excellent place to teach the kids skating. After skating, there are plush couches to hang out and relax right outside the rink together.

Eagle Pool and Ice Rink

Eagle, CO, is home to an NHL size ice rink that offers public skating, learn-to-skate classes, and youth hockey programs. Keep up with their winter public skating hours on the Mountain Recreation calendar.

The cheapest way to get from Denver to Vail is the bus through the Colorado Department of Transportation system.
